First
Friday Celebration of the Arts
The arts adorn the historic streets of Old Town Winchester
Virginia on the first Friday of each month,
(with the exception of January and May) for First Friday Celebration, an evening of arts appreciation. The Shenandoah Arts Council sponsors First Friday Celebrations. First Friday’s begin at 6:00pm, and conclude around 9:00pm. Residents and visitors are invited to visit the galleries, meet local artists, and view exhibits as they enjoy the sounds of live music. The celebration is free and open to the public unless noted otherwise.
Prior to the celebration it is a good
idea to grab a bite of food at any of
the
Restaurants Winchester has to offer located in Old Town. All forms of media are represented at the monthly celebration, and include: drawings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and many other forms of visual art. In addition to the art exhibits that are scattered throughout the town, unique specialty shops are open for business during the evening hours.
Be sure to venture to downtown
Winchester to be a part of the cultural
arts celebration on the First Friday of
each month. Discover original art and
speak with local artists on the streets
of Old Town Winchester. New works and
exhibits are on display each month. Give
