The Winchester Little Theatre, organized in 1929, is an all-volunteer organization that has provided entertainment for the Winchester-Frederick County area for more than 75 years. Originally named the Winchester Theatre Guild until 1974, Winchester Little Theatre was conceived “to present, produce, and encourage the production, acting and writing of plays.” Today, the Winchester Little Theatre performs several plays each year, each of which runs for a couple weeks in the historic town of Winchester Virginia. Winchester Little Theatre is housed in the Old Pennsylvania Railroad freight station.
 Wayside
Theatre, the second oldest professional theatre in Virginia, is located in Middletown and
is celebrating more than 45 consecutive seasons.
The theatre was originally named the Maralarrick Players in 1962, and was later bought out and renamed to Wayside Theatre. It wasn’t until 1963 that the theatre employed professionals. The mission of Wayside Theatre is to enrich the lives of community members through professional theatre and performing opportunities. Wayside Theatre
gives several performances each year.
The Shenandoah University Summer Music Theatre features four professional music theatre productions each summer at the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre. Fore more than 25 years the University has performed the summer line up. The Shenandoah University Summer Music Theatre offers both matinee and evening performances for the duration of the summer. Be sure to get your ticket early, as these classic musical performances sell out quickly!
